Everyone I’ve ever made tacos for has begged me to make it over and over. Trust me, after tasting my Mom’s recipe you will never go back to the packet stuff again. You can use this for ground beef, shredded chicken (I like using rotisserie chicken) or ground turkey.
Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup yellow onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth (2 bouillon cubes + 2 cups water)
- 1-8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
Directions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
- In small bowl, mix flour, red pepper flakes and cumin together. Add dry mixture to the pan with sautéed onion and garlic and mix well.
- Add beef broth and tomato sauce to the pan and stir. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the sauce to cooked ground meat or shredded meat.
